Beyers Chocolates is the largest independent manufacturer of boxed chocolates in South Africa, and produces some of the country’s favourite chocolates. Making quality chocolate is at the heart of what we do, and it’s only possible through our loyal and dedicated staff.
We employ 250 staff full time and 550 staff in season (8 months of the year). Most of our employees have been with us for a long time, with service awards now starting in the 20 year category. While we recognise loyalty, we also strive to create a fun and inspired working environment.
At Beyers Chocolates we focus a lot of our attention on training and development, to give our staff the skills required to work in a world-class chocolate factory. Kees Beyers’ long term vision is to provide even more opportunities to learn about the art of confectionary, to close the noticeable gap between European and South African standards when it comes to training.
In conjunction with Food Bev SETA, Beyers Chocolates supports ongoing training with SAQA, to ensure that internationally endorsed national qualifications frameworks are met. In 2010, Beyers Chocolates was awarded the following by Food Bev SETA:
