Beyers Chocolates is the largest independent manufacturer of boxed chocolates in South Africa, and produces some of the country’s favourite chocolates. Making quality chocolate is at the heart of what we do, and it’s only possible through our loyal and dedicated staff.
Beyers Chocolates have been operating from our industrial premises in Derrick Road in Spartan for the last 30 years but was founded in 1987 with a factory of 40m², which has grown to 15 000m² over 35 years to four locations in Gauteng. Our main factory is situated in Spartan, Kempton Park with our factory shop located on the same property. Most of our employees have been with us for a long time, with service awards now starting in the 25-year category. While we recognise loyalty, we also strive to create a fun and inspiring working environment.
At Beyers Chocolates we focus a lot of our attention on training and development, to give our staff the skills required to work in a world-class chocolate factory. Kees Beyers’ long term vision is to provide even more opportunities to learn about the art of confectionary, to close the noticeable gap between European and South African standards when it comes to training.
In conjunction with Food Bev SETA, Beyers Chocolates supports ongoing training with SAQA, to ensure that internationally endorsed national qualifications frameworks are met. In 2010, Beyers Chocolates was awarded the following by Food Bev SETA:
- Excellence in providing learnership opportunities for unemployed persons
- Excellence in providing employment for previously unemployed persons
