Beyers Chocolates won two awards at the 2017 Food Review/Symrise New Products award evening, which took place at The Venue in Sandton. The influential competition is in its 23rd year and it gives local and international brands the opportunity to unveil their most innovative new products.
Beyers Chocolates won the 2017 Range category and took first runner-up for the overall 2017 New Product of the Year, for their Chocolatier’s Collection. This year the event focused on clean labels, innovative flavours and reduced sugars. There were 36 entries showcased.
Food innovation
“Innovation is a key aspect of what we do at Beyers and so we’re delighted to have won gold and the first runner-up award for the Chocolatier’s Collection,” says Kees Beyers, founder and CEO of Beyers Chocolates. “We were competing against top national brands, which highlights that we’re on trend when it comes to product development. For me personally, the collection has some of my favourite Beyers chocolates, which makes these awards even sweeter.”
The Chocolatier’s Collection consists of four boxes: Classic, Truffle, Cherry, and Turkish Delight. Each box has an upmarket, luxurious look, with a distinct signature colour to mirror the hero ingredient, while also making it stand out from its competitors.
Best-selling chocolate
“Our Chocolatier’s Collection has always been a best-seller for us in the gifting category and with its new award-winning design, we are confident it will continue to do so. We’re incredibly proud of this collection as it delivers premium chocolates but at an affordable price,” says Beyers.
Signed and sealed by Kees Beyers himself, the Chocolatier’s Collection is the heart of Beyers, which South Africans can enjoy every day. The range is available at major retailers throughout the country and at all Beyers Chocolates factory shops, as well as in their online store. The boxes can be bought individually, or as a beautiful collection of four, to treat someone special to the perfect gift.
